Software Solutions - Overview

Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies have created a revolution in the field of Genomics over the last 10 years. The exponential fall in the cost of DNA sequencing and rapid increase in speed now allows a whole human genome to be sequenced in less than 2 weeks for a price of $5000.

While this has enabled in widespread adoption of sequencing the challenge has been in analyzing, annotating and understanding the terra-bytes of data generated every day by the sequencing machines. SciGenom provides many tools and solutions to help in this. See our Bioinformatics offerings

In addition to challenges provided for Bioinformatics, managing the Sequencing workflow from the point of sample collection to delivery of the reports is a complex process to be followed and tracked carefully by the Lab personnel. SciGenom has developed a state of the art Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) specifically tailored for a Sequencing lab. As a number of technologies have come over the last decade, many labs use equipment from different vendors and need a flexible LIMS system that can handle them.

Further, most companies update their chemistry and provide different protocols as they release new versions. The LIMS solution has to be flexible to support these changes while enabling their reuse whenever needed.
